Is there anyone on this forum that believes that the Ukrainians are the good guys?

I think the people are fine. But like an area where the Mafia dominates, the system is corrupt.

Just a rumor off MOA (moonofalabama) chat board (if true it sounds like someone's tying up loose ends):

Is this a step towards 'boots on the ground'? Not that there aren't lot's of Americans there already.

That is nothing more than role reversal.
Switch names in "news brief" and it is far closer to the truth.
Pretty sure Democratic Party wrote this... they do not like guns and all... right ?

Europe will surrender when they get cold and hungry enough.
I see a war between the people & the ds actors that have been installed.

One of the commentors on MOA (moonofalabama) chat today, interesting:

have a theory that what we are witnessing -- a complete destruction / slaughter of Europe -- is a well-planned event that the US has been working on for well over 30 years. And they decided it is time to trigger the event (Ukraine is basically just a trigger / a mechanism to initiate the demolition).
IMHO, it all starts with the problem that most intelligent people have known to exist for a long while. But "governments" and "oligarchs", who own, well, everything, have been too shy to educate the plebes about it.
The problem is called "Net Energy Cliff".
About 15-20 years ago, Charles A.S. Hall, Jessica G. Lambert and a slew of other scientists estimated that world oil production was already at the EROI levels of around 20-30, and shale oils won't save the day as shale has EROI (Energy Return on Energy Invested) of 10-15, if that.
They also figured out a long time ago that a weighted average level of 1:14 is necessary for the survival of a "modern" society (with arts, theaters, all those banksters and financiers, bureaucrats, and a bunch of other professions that produce nothing of real value). Society needs "excess" energy above 14 to be able to support all these freeloaders. Once the EROI drops below 14, the society is inevitably going down to where it was around 16th / 17th century, before super-high density energy - oil - was discovered. And today we are approaching this level.
And who is "we", one might ask?!
Well, about 60-70% of all world resources are consumed by the USA + Europe (15% of the world's population). That's your "golden billion" devouring more than the rest of the world combined. Europe is about half of that number. The remaining 85% of the population are modestly content with consuming the remaining 30%.
The choice of the "Hegemon" of this "golden" billion was basically:
(A) To fight with Russia and China, which account for just 10-15% of resource consumption (and Russia possess a 100% probability to "clobber the "Hegemon" in the outhouse" (quoting Putin who once famously said this in relation to the Syrian terrorists), and it can do that within 15 minutes -- that's flight time of Russia's hypersonic ICBMs), or
(B) put under the knife a fat, suckling piglet called Europe.
And, oh so fortunately, the Pig does not have an army to speak of, no nuclear missiles of any significance. Hell, it does not even have it's "own, sovereign" governments (except for Hungary). All the "rulers" were appointed from Washington, and those who resisted (as the previous Chancellor in Austria), well, they were simply removed. It is not so difficult to kill such a piglet.
This actually reminds me of an interesting analogy from the Solzhenitsin "Gulag" book. When convicts in Russian frozen tundra escape from prison, they often take with them a fat guy, who cannot stand for himself. They promise that he would be "liberated" along with them and that they are taking him because "well, they simply like him"... But they also have a name for a guy like that -- "canned food". When trying to survive in the middle of the winter tundra, they literally eat this guy piece by piece. He is still walking (legs are eaten last). But he is basically a piglet.
So, the US has been keeping Europe around as such "canned food" for a rainy day, waiting for the right moment to slaughter the pig in order to survive itself. And given the EROI and the global energy / economic / debt / financial crises, apparently the time has come to "open the can".
What does the "Hegemon" get as a result of the slaughtering Europe? Quite a lot, actually:
1) The destruction of European manufacturing industry and destruction of the energy (and other useful resources) consumption by the European "middle class" (which will disappear and become utterly impoverished) releases about 20% of the world's energy and other resources, allowing the "Hegemon" to survive and pig out for another 10-20 years,
2) Huge amounts of financial and intellectual resources will rush from Europe to the U.S. (this will help support manufacturing base in the US, will provide additional financial injections / capital flight from EU to the US, so, not as much money will need to be printed by the Fed), altogether these will help tame inflation (at least somewhat), which is getting out of control.
One would ask -- why the European industry would not rush to escape to Russia instead (it's closer, labor is much cheaper, energy resources are very cheap)? Well, that's why Ukraine was built into a Neo-Nazi cesspit, which neocons now sent on a suicide mission against Russia. And that's why a new iron curtain is being lowered to help direct the "escape" of German, French, and other capital in the "right" direction,
3) The destruction of a major competitor in the global markets (Boeing, Ford, and even Cargill will be quite pleased),
4) The destruction of Euro, a major competitor to the Dollar, whose own affairs have been somewhat shaky lately, with its reserve status decreasing by 10% in 10 years. And so, the Euro is flushed down the toilet, 60-70% of the reserves from the former "Euro" will flow into the Dollar (the rest will probably flow into Yuan and Gold), and voila, the Dollar gets another 10-20 years of life.
As a bonus, angry, impoverished Europe, which from 2022 to 2030 will be brainwashed according to the same script as was used in the Ukraine:
- we create a "European" army (and they will also buy shiny toys from Lockheed, Northrop, etc. - more profit!),
- we also tell the impoverished plebes about the Evil Russkis in the east, and that they are to blame for Europe's new beggar status, and voila, the 4th Reich is ready by 2030.
After that, "Drang nach Osten" #3, with the goal to weaken Russia. Of course, stupid, angry Euro fools will get their teeth smashed again by the Russians (like they did in 1812, and again in 1945). But History never teaches brainless schmucks anything. As a result, both sides will be in ruin. This will be done in accordance with exactly the same scenario as was successfully used in 1933 when conniving Brits and their Jewish friends from Wall Street financed the election campaign of then unknown looser by the name Hitler, and then helped the impoverished Germany (Versaille, anyone?!) with financing of manufacturing Messerschmitts, Panzers, and other useful junk).
And, as a huge plus after the new Euro-war, China remains without a reliable and protected rear (US really hopes Russia will be in ruins, like in 1945), and it will be possible to "deal" with China on her own from 2035 onwards...
I think that's the scenario that the US neocons have dreamed up for themselves and the European pig slaughter is just Episode 1 in this movie...

Hard to believe this video is still up but it has the conversation where Victoria Nuland talks about arranging the Ukraine's leadership and has the famous quote 'F--k the EU'.

What do you suppose will become of Russia if it is taken down?
They will select another bunch of **** to run them just like we do every four years, same for the Ukraine... the Bankers never lose. But maybe, just maybe, they will overthrow their masters...

But the issue is replace them with other masters to go to war with? Why not just stop being antagonists?

RUSSIA won't go down. Ruskies have been through worse dealing with Hitler than what these WEFFERS and NATO Leftists can muster up.
PLUS
Russia is mining gold and accepting gold for oil @ a 15% discount to spot oil prices. In doing so has made many friends that use to suck USA tit.

This is the dumbest shit I have ever seen. What they didn't manage to destroy with the phony covid lockdowns the cost to operate a business will finish the job. Who but a dementia patient would tell Putin hey it's OK to go into Ukraine and expect any different. Europe freezes and starves then we're next.

I'm a believer Putin will cease advancement once he is comfortable with a buffer Zone. After all he has been after that since 2014 NOT February 2022. Minsk Agreement - Not fulfilled by NATO and the WEST.

You make a fine point, but I think he will see to it that all of Ukraine gets liberated.

I think there will not be a Ukraine in the long run. Part of Poland was lost to Ukraine, and Romania too. Maybe the other minor nations around it may have some hard feelings about territory too. IDK

I'm thinking there's going to be some European leaders looking for a job after this Winter of Discontent:
