Adding insult to injury: United did NOT take passenger's bags off his plane after he was dragged off - then sent his luggage to the WRONG address hundreds of miles from where he was hospitalized
  • David Dao was dragged off flight UA3411 from Chicago to Louisville on Sunday
  • The doctor was forcibly and violently removed when he would not give up his seat
  • On top of injuries, the airline did not take the time to remove Dao's luggage
  • He and his wife were left without their things while he recovered in the hospital
  • He has been released from the hospital and hired two lawyers to represent him

On the top shelf.
This whole FUBAR was one big present to the trial lawyers association that all of us will be funding through taxes, fees, fares and regulations.

The guy will obviously walk away with a chunk of change but the lawyers will be reaping more in retainer fees from the airlines and lobbyists as idiots like my moronic state's own Chucky Cheese Schumer start introducing all sorts of junk legislation with feel good names.

Had United, and others, done what they were actually supposed to, all of that could have been avoided.

I need to befriend a cop and just let him unjustly kick my ass somewhere on video. I can play the race card for bonus points. I take the millions and we can split it.
Yep, I can see the split now. You get another ass whippin' and the cop walks away with the money. Cops are never your "friend".

Great business plan, but just make sure that United is somehow implicated so you can take some bonus bucks.

EXCLUSIVE: Not a care in the world! Freewheeling United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz cycles near his $6 million Florida beach house as mistreated passengers pile on and company stock implodes
  • United Airlines has been under fire since videos revealed a bloodied Dr. David Dao getting dragged from his seat on a flight from Chicago
  • But smiling CEO Oscar Munoz spent Easter Weekend relaxing at his palatial Florida home
  • Munoz bought the beachfront property in Ponte Vedra Beach in 2011 for $3 million, leveled the existing house and built a new 10,000-square-foot home
  • While he promised far-reaching reforms, Munoz appeared to do little work as he rode his bike along the beach and visited with a friend on Millionaires' Row
  • 'We are not criminals,' said Catherine Munoz, the corporate honcho's wife on Saturday
  • Munoz, who's on target to make $14 million, apologized several times
  • But the onslught of complaints continues as a couple on their way to their wedding in Costa Rica say they were booted from a flight when they moved seats

Okay. I have hated United Airlines from the moment I started reading www.untied.com. That was probably 15 years ago. At and before that time, I was mostly flying on Southwest and Alaska. After reading about United's atrocities, I resolved to never deal with them. Ever. Fast forward to now, I am not surprised that they abuse their customers badly. They are assholes. That is their history, that is their policy, that is what they do.

New United Airline Motto’s: “Drag and Drop”

“We put the hospital in hospitality”

“Board as a doctor, leave as a patient”

“Our prices can’t be beaten, but our passengers can”

“We have First Class, Business Class and No Class”

“Not enough seating, prepare for a beating”

“We treat you like we treat your luggage”

“We beat the customer. Not the competition”

“And you thought leg room was an issue”

“Where voluntary is mandatory”

“Fight or flight. We decide”

“Now offering one free carry off”

“Beating random customers since 2017”

“If our staff needs a seat, we’ll drag you out by your feet”

“A bloody good airline”

You can't get there from here.
I flew the US legs of my recent trip to Europe on United. I won't go into all the horrible BS that went on, and seemed completely avoidable to me as a participant and observer, esp. at the gates. The cluster f@#$ at Chicago was amazing, I have never seen anything like it. Somehow, my checked bag made it to the final destination, only by luck and me asking questions of employees. If I was a bit less experienced, I could see how the bag would have been lost. I was not "bumped" but my experience turned me against United. If at all possible I will avoid them like the plague in the future.

United CEO will NOT chair board in 2018 after outrage over passenger dragged from plane
  • United Chief Executive Oscar Munoz chose to leave 'future determinations related to the chairman position' to the United board
  • The airline landed in hot water after a passenger was dragged off a plane
  • Munoz initially called the passenger, David Dao, 'disruptive and belligerent'

Jeez, that woman had more kit on her than an SAS bloke going on a 6 week op, and the prick playing up was just an attention whore. Kick em both off, and no refunds :)

If I ran the airlines you'd pay me for a ticket, get directions to the run way, be told to run fast and flap your arms hard. NY is that way, don't stop flapping till ya get there. All this seats and planes chit is just soft! Back in my day... blah, blah, blah.... eat the SAS for breakfast!

:p :D  :Out:

Most people will have a downer on the flight attendants, but its true to say that air travel is like a magnet for people who think they are exceptional, and should be allowed to contravene the rules, add in the just plain stupid folks, and the fact that the airlines will have driven the remuneration of employee's down in an inverse ratio to extra seats they've crammed into 'Coach', and its going to be an environment where patience gets in short supply.

The sort of air travel that conjures up images of Marilyn Monroe, or Jane Russell in tight sweaters, or even vintage Stetson adverts is still available, its called Business, or First Class :)

Long gone are the days (1975) when I used to fly Mia to SF and back on the red eye with National Airlines every month. Two people in first class, at most, with 4 stews. (the old type stewardess) Always a real fun flight. Free booze, smoking, toking and sniffing in the bathrooms, plus nice leather seats for 6 hours. Well worth the ticket price, as no one ever flew FC on the red eye.
I personally haven't been a aluminum can since 2001 and have no intention of ever getting into one either.

Anyone remember "Peoples Express"? The airline existed on the east coast in the early 70's $80.00 to fly anywhere. You boarded the plane first come first served and once off the ground the Stewardess would come by and collect for the ticket price. Now that was a cattle car airline. Still better than today though.

Cannot do them. Fares are cheaper. Cannot do it.
We just did Lufthansa for 4 legs. 4 legs last year.
Cannot be more happy.
