shockingly truthful video from an abc affiliate. their solution at the end is worth skipping, but the first 2/3 is good

one surprising statistic -- san fran and seattle lead the nation in many crimes

in seattle's case, yes VERY rapidly. the cops and other people they interviewed all cited the last 5ish years

for those that won't watch the video -- the courts don't send anybody to jail/prison. the criminals have a cup of coffee and then get released back into the public. they showed criminal records of people having 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 arrests over the last handful of years.

the cops are pissed and just saying f-ck it, not even arresting people anymore

1st, this is a seattle problem and I could care less unless I want to visit. I was last out there in the mid 90's or so. Was a nice city then.

2) when that city council member smiled when they were being yelled at and citizen was demanding something be done, I woulda jumped on that Mo fo and fired him on the spot and probably beat his ass.

3) 75 million in new taxes on tech companies (Which got repealed of course) But this is a problem IMO. So the city creates problems, charges the tech companies that sell tech all over the country and or world so the whole world now has to pay for the shithole that their legislature created.

4) the cities plan to do #3 so they could provide housing to the homeless (drug addicts) I have to wonder if the drug cartels are paying off the city council/ prosecutors/judges. Dude who retired from the police force went and bought a horse farm in a pretty nice area. I quick search of real estate there and it's obvious he probably paid a million or more for that place. Police work must pay well out there.

2002 for me. place was spotless. people were overly nice. beautiful part of the country.

that trip was part of my post 9/11 tour. i flew/cruised all over the country during the year after 9/11. the prices were RIDICULOUSLY cheap = as the sheep were too terrified to buy plane tickets, cruise tickets

you could roundtrip anywhere in the country for $120. 5 night cruises $225. hotels, rent cars....cheap cheap. the good old days....

The entire conundrum is within this phrase from the original video: "How did we allow the word "compassion" to be twisted into this sickening reality?"

that is spot on. which makes me suspect that it is intentional. everybody with a 100 iq knows (or should know) better. they are using same technique in our skoolz

discipline/punishment in skoolz = bad/mean/racist

let them get away with it = compassion/nice/social justice

imo denying deserved discipline/punishment is an attack on that child

Been to Seattle three times. 1970's, 1980's and 2002. You can see how Socialism has permeated through the culture there.

Will not stop, until the host (taxpayers) say enough is enough. Everyone wants something for nothing.

Was there last July with the wife and two young daughters for a conference for my wife. We rented a camper van and drove around the truly beautiful National/State Parks in that region and had a fantastic time; then went into Seattle for the conference and were terribly saddened by the squalor. Not far from the posh hotel for the conference were those tent cities under the I-5 overpasses. My 3 year old and I camped out in my tent in Mt. Rainier NP and when she saw the tent cities under the highway she asked if that was where we were staying. It's not easy explaining to a 3 year old that tent camps in a city full of people are much more dangerous than campgrounds named after cougars or bears.
I will go back to further explore the unspoiled areas, but I'll skip Seattle.......

85-87 building underground bus tunnel , Renton water treatment plant , floating bridge on Lake Washington ,...

Even back then the long time Seattle residents were bitching about all the idiots from California we’re taking over..

I loved it there , made a shitpot of money.

Why yes it was and one can still shop in the underground stores that have been rejuvenated....
If the stores are still there...

How did that city end up underground? Ever hear of the Mud Flood?

No.
But my girlfriend attends Mudfossil University and she says the stores were built at least one story off the ground.

Why?..

High tides.

That’s what she said and I have to agree with her right now because I’m about to get laid.

What I find interesting is that those underground buildings have windows...and exterior paint...as if they were built beforehand all that dirt enveloped them.

The videos are propaganda to keep in place the war on drugs and attack the so called bleeding heart liberals. There are less than .1% homeless drug users. They are a tiny part of the population but they're spread out, which is what the gov't wants to make it in your face. Create a problem for more job security.

The retired cop with the nice horse ranch, said he retired because of mixed signals from different superiors - that just sounds like inept gov't to me, not a need to increase drug laws or stop funding mental health services.

If they really wanted to solve this problem, they could simply adopt the policies of the other cities that have performed better and improve those.

MSM propaganda 100%.
Enlighten us on who has job security because of homeless people and their substance abuse? Drug dealers? Certainly not their city leaders. Not those in law enforcement. Maybe garbage collectors?
You see the problems substance abuse causes and then look away and say it's not there. Blame the messenger.

Not so fast Seattle and Frisco, Denver is nipping at your heels in the shithole olympics.

Inititive 300 is legislation that would allow 'camping' anywhere (ie, homeless squatting). Here is the most amazing thing:

"A new poll shows the initiative would pass by a nearly 2-1 margin if the election were held today, according to polling."

2/3rds of Denverites are supposedly ready to vote for this. I would imagine the actual vote would be closer but that shows you how inept they are at self governing. Liberal bastion=squalor

Seattle's new ‘Navigation Team' tackles homeless camps under I-5

1553194587048.png

“There's been a significant increase in crime, really associated specifically with these encampments. Not to say all unauthorized encampments are associated with crime, but some are, and we have to recognize that and deal with that,” Scott Lindsay, with the Seattle Mayor’s Office, said.

The expected cleanup zone includes the area around Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, which is filled with piles of garbage, clothing, needles and other items

“We've had cars that have been broken into,” he said. “We've had computers that have been stolen. We've -- of course, finding needles on the ground all the time.”

Tuesday afternoon, a judge denied the American Civil Liberty Union’s request for a temporary restraining order, which would have halted the cleanups.

The ACLU requested the stoppage as part of a lawsuit against the city and the state.

So, and I am trying to wrap my head around this, the ACLU feels that the garbage in the streets belongs to somebody, therefore.....no one should clean up the trash?

Is that what I am getting from this?

You cut the price of drugs down to market rate - get the gov't out of the legality business and move them into the regulation business (think cigarettes and alcohol) then 2 things happen: Addicts either seek help or die off.

We don't need to legislate "stupid" and it is impossible to legislate mental illness. Tax dollars don't need to be spent on trying to legislate human behavior or treat mental illness as a crime - that has been tried and has NEVER worked. Instead what you get is a situation where the middle man in the equation gets rich (mafias with giant drug revenues) and all other problems just fester - regardless if you hide them (think NYC or San Diego) or if you spread them out into the open (think SF, Seattle).. There are plenty of "Job security" parties interested in keeping the root cause status quo hidden and unchanged.

Legislate Drugs = solve nothing + make criminals rich + make drug users poor and wards of the state
Don't try to control human nature = liberty + more money for honest, productive workers + more time/money to help those in need (if they decide seek help)

The homeless-druggy problem is a gov't fabricated problem - the numbers are less than .1 % of the population.

The videos have a 100% MSM propaganda agenda! They are made for the matrix and to brainwash people toward the MSM's solutions (status quo and adjustments around the fringes). Create a problem, then self appoint to fix it - we have seen this thousands of times before and I have explained these facts on Internet forums for 2 decades and in person to people for over 4. The logic is obviously clear and has already been proven out in practice.

No offense Funnymoney but I am not getting a thing from this post. Its all made up and selling drugs cheaper is the answer? All laws, including tax laws are in place to control human behavior. If that isnt' working its because its not being enforced for various reasons.

Virginia and Denver may not have the experience of, say SF and Seattle, but they are talented and are a formidable future foe.

And the stats always paint a brighter picture because the chief of police and mayor don’t want to lose their jobs.

exactly. so the numbers are manipulated low. then, as the video showed, they are ignoring many MANY crimes. so it wouldn't be out of line to estimate that the true crime rate is DOUBLE what is being reported through official channels

Ah, one good result of all that cocaine I went through in the 70s — I can't smell shit.
Seattle smells like fish most of the time (one of the two things in the world that smells like that).
All those crimes around the homeless (workless would be a better name) are mostly homeless on homeless.
I've parked in seattle 23,000 times and never had my car broken into. Course I don't park for free in a out-of-the-way area to save on parking fees.
And about those safe cities stats? It seems they left chicongo out, imagine that. And new yerk is the safest city? That's a humor.
I hope everyone stays the fuck outta seattle, it's too damed crowded already. LEAVE! LEAVE! move to new yerk

And Idaho gets my vote any day of the week. Stay away from there too, workless assholes.
I wanna move back.

As cities go, not that I've been to many, new yerk is safe. Much more so than Boston. I dropped my cell phone outside of Times Square and didn't realize it until I was a few blocks away. The guy I was with called my number, someone answered and told him where I could meet up to get my phone. The man that found it wouldn't accept all the money in my right pocket either. I got mugged and thrown in a holding cell one night while in Boston.
Springfield is one f-ed up, gang and drug infested city. And I'm not only talking about the civic boards either.
