Just words on paper ( as "W" said about the Constitution one time). Mussolini kept the trains and buses running on time. They hung his ass and his girlfriend's.
Chaves was a crime lord just as Maduro is now.
Notice The Pope ( a socialist) Russia, China and other socialist/communist led countries are siding with Maduro.
The people want somebody new. Let them have it. Maduro can be like other dictators, take his billions and moved to another country.

Exclusive: Refiner Citgo prepares to fend off Venezuela's opposition government

Marianna Parraga, Corina Pons
MEXICO CITY/CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela’s most important foreign asset, its $10 billion U.S. refining arm Citgo Petroleum, is hunkering down to arm itself with a legal strategy to block efforts for its board to be removed and its revenues diverted to an opposition government, sources close to the talks said.

There’s No Path to a Fast Recovery in Venezuelan Oil
January 26 2019, 10:00 PMJanuary 27 2019, 3:47 AM

I’m not going to try to pretend I know how the situation in Venezuela will evolve over the coming days, weeks or months. Almost anything could happen: the quick ouster of President Nicolas Maduro; a protracted period of civil unrest; or the current regime digging in with the support of the military.

One thing I am fairly sure of, though, is that the damage inflicted on the country’s oil sector by years of under-investment and mismanagement, compounded by the exodus of large parts of the skilled workforce, will not be quickly, or easily, reversed. And it won’t matter who is in power, or how any transition comes about.

If you want a quick comparison of how things might evolve in the Venezuelan oil sector in the coming years, look no further than Libya’s recent past, or Iran’s experience after the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

In both cases there was an immediate slump in production to near zero, followed by a brief recovery, then years of a slow grind, with output levels around half what they had been before the revolutions. Seven years after the toppling of the previous regimes, output had still not recovered fully.

  • US didn't sanction trade with VZ. only sanctioned PDVSA which means PDVSA can sell oil to traders, who can then sell oil to US refineries

Treasury Sanctions Venezuela’s State-Owned Oil Company Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A.

January 28, 2019
Action Intensifies Pressure on Maduro and Regime Insiders, Demonstrates U.S. Commitment to Leverage Economic Pressure to Support the Venezuelan People’s Transition to Democracy

Washington – Today the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PdVSA) pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13850 for operating in the oil sector of the Venezuelan economy. PdVSA is a Venezuelan state-owned oil company and a primary source of Venezuela’s income and foreign currency, to include U.S. dollars and Euros.
“The United States is holding accountable those responsible for Venezuela’s tragic decline, and will continue to use the full suite of its diplomatic and economic tools to support Interim President Juan Guaidó, the National Assembly, and the Venezuelan people’s efforts to restore their democracy,” said Secretary of the Treasury Steven T. Mnuchin. “Today’s designation of PdVSA will help prevent further diverting of Venezuela’s assets by Maduro and preserve these assets for the people of Venezuela. The path to sanctions relief for PdVSA is through the expeditious transfer of control to the Interim President or a subsequent, democratically elected government.”

MSM propaganda. Both sides of the debate.

TPTB were never happy with them, Chavez should have took a page from the Ecuador playbook and linked everything to the dollar instead of trying to nationalize TPTB gold mines.

From here things usually simply get worse. TPTB won't be finished until near everything has been taken from them. Oil, gold, property and prosperity. Everything.

Florida Maquis is former army intelligence trained in nearby Fort Huachuca, AZ

Anytime a thread opens like this I throw up a little in my mouth.
You guys do know that 19yr old Billy who got fired at McDonald’s for putting ketchup packets under the toilet seats in the female restroom can go down to his local recruiting station score an 80 or so on the asvab and two months later find himself on a bus to Ft Huachuca to lern army intelligence.

Hes not going to be told who shot JFK or which 3rd world dictator were about to overthrow ....he’s basically going to learn how to tell the difference between a Soviet T-80 and T-55 in a 25 year old aerial photograph ....and know where the guy up in S4 keeps the extra batteries for the companies night vision goggles.

I'm surprised at how "tuned-in" he is. He mentions the Dem vs Rep and socialism vs capitalism illusions.

A third the nation is on food stamps, how much more crony socialism (Obummer) and crony capitalism (Tramp) can a nation take?
