The Most Timeless Watches On The Market
Armand The Watch Guy

Published on Jan 1, 2017
In this video I would like to talk about the watches which, in my opinion, have the most timeless designs. I find that this is a rather refreshing characteristic when a lot of watches are very specific to a particular era and watches with a very neutral aesthetic are surprisingly rare.

Equally, I would like to wish you a very happy New Year.

The Urban Gentry

Published on Jan 3, 2017
It has been a while since the last watch duel on the channel, so today an extra special showdown between two 90s iconic Swiss automatic luxury dive watches. In the blue corner is an old favourite, the one and only James "Bond" Seamaster from Omega. And in the red corner (or should I say pink) is one of the last of the great Tudor Submariners before the brand reinvention of recent years. Get ready to rumble!!!
FIGHT!!!

I used to wear a Timex G-shock everyday. My first wife gave it to me for Christmas around 1990. I wore it for years delivering bottled water on the job. Eventually cell phones became popular and I stopped wearing a wristwatch. It was still running when I threw it away around 2004, but the rubber casing and wristband were rotting due to Florida's humidity.

Will This Smart Watch Convert Me? - The Fenix Chronos Review - Garmin's Best Outdoor & Fitness Watch
The Urban Gentry

Published on Jan 1, 2017
As we kick off the new year, why not do it with a look at a "smart watch"? They will undoubtedly be a big part of the future for watches and horology in general so today I review the top of the line ABC outdoor and fitness smart watch from Garmin. Those of you who follow my channel will know I have been highly critical of smart watches so far and I have yet to see one that I would actually consider buying myself. Will the Fenix Chronos from Garmin change my mind and convert me into a believer or will I remain fearlessly loyal to what I already use? To find out more about the Garmin Chronos and other offerings from their Fenix range click here:

I've never been a watch collector, hell, I don't even wear a watch and haven't in over 25 years. But, I've always wanted a WWI era trench watch.

The Iconic Patek Philippe Calatrava - A Perfect Gentleman's Dress Watch - Review Of Ref. 3919
The Urban Gentry

Published on Jan 11, 2017
In today's watch review we take our first in a series of videos for 2017 looking at the legendary Swiss brand Patek Philippe. I thought the best place to start would be with their best selling flagship model, the Calatrava. This thin, minimalist iconic manual wind dress watch (ref. 3919) personifies many aspects of the haute horology watchmaker and has an equally interesting story of how it came to be. This understated luxury watch could very well be one of the most perfect dress watches for the modern gentlemen.

I love watches. Its a shame that a lot of poeple dont wear them anymore becuase of cell phones. I have a decent collection now of g shocks, siekos, invicta, etc., but after my wife picked me up a G shock Rangeman triple sensor its all I wear. I barely ever take it off.

Solar powered
compass
radio sync to exact time every night (auto syncs to time zone)
barometer
altimeter
sunset time
sunrise time
calendar with various displays
all time zones
other standard equipment such as stop watch, etc.

Im a surveyor, so I completely geeked out on it. I input elevation over a published NGS benchmark on the NAVD88 datum. Did the same for horizontal control on a published monument with state pane coordinates NAD83. The sensor is dialed now to the best it can be. It trips out inside vehicles or buildings, but outside it preforms remarkably accurate to determine elevations and campus readings.

I highly recommend this watch. I picked mine up on amazon for about $180 IIRC.

The Top 3 Premium Swiss Luxury Steel Sports Watches & The Exciting New Kid On The Block (WWT#76)

The Sinn 104 Pilot Watch (A Re-Review) - Is It Still A Perfect Everyday Watch? + Breitling Unboxing
The Urban Gentry

Published on Jan 15, 2017
In today's video I re-review an old favourite. The Christmas before last I sold my 104 to give the final push in funds needed to purchase another grail aviation watch. Despite my rave review of the Sinn, at the time it seemed right to let something go in order to get the Breitling Navitimer I had always dreamed about. A week ago I was offered a trade I could not refuse and fate has returned the 104 into my possession. This German made pilots automatic watch embodies everything Sinn is renowned for. At an affordable price tag, practical features, robust and made to a luxury standard, it punches way above it weight. For this and many more reasons I deemed it the "perfect everyday watch". But the question remains, do I still believe in that statement I made over a year and many watches later?
Also in this video I unbox a fantastic Breitling I have always wanted to take a look at and give my first impressions.

The Parker 5th Pen: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
Nick Shabazz

Published on Jan 17, 2017
The Parker 5th is a very odd duck, a porous-tip pen which is shaped kind of like a fountain pen. Although it is slightly easier to use and more durable than a fountain pen, it doesn't have any of the advantages of the fountain pen, and doesn't particularly have any advantages of its own, beyond maybe passing for a fountain pen from across the room. So, there's no real reason to buy this, and if you buy a pen of nearly any other type which isn't pretending, you'll end up with a better writing tool.

I read a book on kinesiology once that made the assertion that stuff you wore like watches and fabrics affected your energy levels. Personally I'm happy with my Casio, and find a little neurotic how some people look at the clock too often. But some great scientific work has been done with watches and clocks.

The Seiko Ripley - A Childhood Dream Watch After A Year - 5 Things I Love & Hate About The SCED035
The Urban Gentry

Published on Jan 19, 2017
In today's video I discuss a very special re-issued watch from Seiko. Not only is it designed by the legendary Italian automotive designer Georgette Giugiaro but it is also the watch worn by Sigourney Weaver's character "Ripley" in the James Cameron epic science fiction classic movie "Aliens". So it's been a year since I first got it and how has it faired in that time? In this video I share my top 5 things I love and top 5 things I hate about this very unique limited edition iconic Chronograph. It certainly is a decisive watch, mainly because of it's 80s style and asymmetrical look but all the same, it was something of a childhood dream come true for me, but do I still feel that way about it?

I would like to thank the Tudor website which has been invaluable for finding information about the different references made of this watch, some of which are very new to me.

Timex Comparison! Red Wing + Timex 38mm vs. Waterbury United Field Watches

Comparing Two Timex Waterbury Watches! Description below ↡
My Wristwatch playlist: http://tinyurl.com/zjk7np5
Make sure to hit that subscribe button if you're new here! Thanks for watching!

The Timex + Redwing watch features leather from the S.B. Foot tannery in Minnesota which provides leather for Red Wing's classic heritage boots, in this case in the classic 875 or 877 oro-legacy colorway. Coming in at 38mm, it is a traditionally proportioned field watch with a special strap from Red Wing. But is it a price-grab marketing exercise when there are more affordable alternative? I compare it to another similar Waterbury collection field watch, the Archive Waterbury United also in 38mm.

Note: I incorrectly identify the strap size as 20mm at the lugs, it is actually 18mm at the 38mm case size. My bad!

Specs:
- Stainless Steel Case
- 38mm Case, 18mm Lugs
- Genuine Redwing Leather Strap/Fabric Strap
- 50 Meter Water Resistance
- INDIGLO Night-Light
- Quick Date
- Quartz Movement
- Imported
- Available at Todd Snyder (not sponsored!)

The Best Automatic Watch Under $100 - A Perfect Place To Start - The Iconic Seiko 5 - SNKL23 Review
The Urban Gentry

Published on Feb 4, 2017
Today we go back to my roots! My very first automatic wrist watch was an old 70s Seiko I inherited as a child from my father. Unlike my grandfather's pocket I was also was fortunate inherit, I could actually wear the Seiko. And so it kicked off a love affair that would last most of my life. One of the most frequently asked questions I get on this channel is: what is a good place to start with watches and preferably something automatic for around $100? There is only one company in the world that has such an extensive range, rich horological heritage and the manufacturing capabilities to supply that demand. Today I talk about the Seiko 5, it's ideology, concept and history behind it. In this video I review and talk about my favourite from the range, the SNKL23.
