So im very new to this stackin stuff. Have a neighbor that showed me a silver bar awile back and thought it was kinda sweet. So i went out and bought a few maples and a couple eagles. I DID NOT know that it would become the obsession that it has. Just wonderin if the affection that i have toward my stack (albeit small at this point) is somethin any of yall experinced at first? Anyway i really like the site. been trying to learn all that i can about the history and the future of silver. Some pretty eye opening stuff out there. Just wish someone woulda showed me one of those bars along time ago....PEACE.

First thing - Welcome to the forum.
Second thing - we're gonna have to shorten your name. Nobody's gonna type out that entire name to reply to you. I'm going with Stoned.

So to answer your question Stoned; yeah, the obsession sets in and then it grows, so get ready for it.

Just a quick note:
Read, read, read as much as you can. Read the threads here, read threads on other forums, and read related articles. Sooner or later you'll be able to identify those writers who seem to know what they're talking about. Then you can separate wheat from chaffe. Now here's the important part, don't dismiss a writer simply because their opinion doest match your own. When I say separate wheat from chaffe, I mean eliminate the noise, the nonsense, the ones who make the "to da moon" predictions and things like that. Continue to read those opposing points of view. Those are the opinions that will cause you to stop and think. They're the ones who will mention something that you may never have thought of.

Hang around, have some patience with posters until you figure out what their agendas are, or if they have any agendas at all. There's some really smart folks here, but just like every society we've got the other end of the spectrum represented too. You'll figure out who's who soon enough.

Hope you stick around and hope you end up being a contributer.

Agreed..very solid advice...already spending a disproportionment amount of my time reading GIM.
This is a special place...it has a$$holes of nearly every type. So no matter the type of a$$hole you are...you can be sure to find a like minded a$$hole or two to agree or disagree with depending on your mood. :lollypop:
