Huawei MateBook X Review - the Better MacBook
MobileTechReview

Published on Sep 5, 2017
Lisa Gade reviews Huawei’s extremely compact and light 13” Windows 10 Ultrabook, the MateBook X. It weighs just 1.05 kg /2.2 lb. and is 12.mm thin. That’s similar to the 12” Apple MacBook but Huawei improves on that formula with a larger display, deeper keyboard and full Intel 7th generation Core i5 and i7 CPUs. The laptop is available with 8BG DDR3LP RAM and your choice of a 256GB or 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. There are two models, priced at $1,099 and $1,299.

The MateBook X has a 2160 x 1440 IPS display with a 3:2 aspect ratio like Microsoft Surface products. A backlit keyboard, two USB-C ports and a compact USB charger are standard. Huawei also includes their pocket-size MateDock that adds HDMI, USB-A, VGA and pass-thru charging. Get it on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2vJHKUb .

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Review - Pro and Con
MobileTechReview

Lisa Gade reviews Samsung’s biggest flagship Android smartphone for 2017, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The phone is available on most carriers, and is one of the most expensive at list price (we talk about discount deals in this video, to reduce the pain). The Note 8 has the S Pen, a Wacom EMR active pen and a 6.3” Super AMOLED display running at 2960 x 1440 that supports HDR. It’s powered by the 2.35 GHz Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 530 graphics (Exynos 8895 overseas) with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage plus a microSD card slot.

The phone is IP68 water resistant, has WiFi 802.11ac with MU MIMO, Cat 16 LTE, NFC and Samsung Pay. It has a front 8MP camera and dual 12MP rear cameras with OIS— a main camera and a telephoto camera that can do bokeh effects. The Note 8 has a 3,300 mAh battery that supports adaptive fast charging and fast wireless charging.

Xiaomi Notebook Air 13 (Intel 7th Gen and NVIDIA MX150) Review - Premium Ultrabook, Bargain Price
MobileTechReview

Published on Sep 11, 2017
Lisa Gade reviews the refreshed Xiaomi Notebook Air 13.3 Ultrabook with an Intel Core i5-7200U 7th gen CPU and NVIDIA Pascal generation MX150 2GB GDDR5 graphics. This is a premium laptop with an aluminum casing that’s 14.8mm thick and weighs 1.3 kg / 2.86 lb.. It has a lovely full HD IPS display, backlit keyboard with 1.5mm travel, a fingerprint scanner and 1MP webcam. Our model has 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD. These are sweet specs for a laptop currently priced around $825. The catch? it’s only available from importers like GearBest.com so you won’t see one at your local store unless you’re in China.
