Preciate it davy.
By no means the proper way to fix it, but I have fixed holes in the back plates of heat exchangers and inducers to keep them running in the middle of the winter with high temp silicone. Just temp until I could get the correct parts and only under a select circumstance. Not worth messing around with flue gasses.

So the deal is this POS Chinese crapsman 2 burner stove.
First, the closest burner one stopped working. Somehow the valve went screwy. Fortunately I was able to get it just stay in the(an)off position.
The 2nd burner apparently rusted through due to water over boiling. I failed to keep up with hygeine/maintenance.

Im about to finish cleaning the rust, hit with rusty metal primer and some high heat paint and swap the good "burner tube" to the working(but also screwy valve. Spins and spins and has 'general areas' where it stops and adjusts.

^^^^ This looks like prank that went too far, or a builder getting back at an abusive homeowner.

looks like the rafters are not cut, those are pieces cut to fit between them for windblock/holding insulation with a gap over the top for venting

Either the picture is upside down and the rafters need to be inserted in the metal hangers or the hangers are upside down...both bad choices.

It looks like it should be roof level from what I can see in the background but it also looks like it's underneath a walking deck ie skirting on left.

Bringing the old man (worked as an apprentice with him) back out of retirement. Ill be taking over 5 of the biggest and badest HVAC buildings out there. He will be coming on for 2 days a week and on call if needed for a year or two to help figure these places out. Will be pretty sweet working with him again.

We both left our old shop at about the same time. We went to different companies. He then since retired and the shop he went to could not handle his buildings, so he called me last week and asked if I would be willing to take them. The company I'm at has the skills and knowlege to back me up at these places which will be a huge relief.
