The Pentagon sent a letter to the Senate Majority Leader saying it would ignore any legislation limiting US military action in Yemen. Have we had a military coup? Tune in to today's Liberty Report:

Outside of attacking al qaeda the USA is not authorized to attack Yemen.

Is Trump violating the War Powers Resolution?

Last time I checked, the military answered to their Commander in Chief.
The current leaders are long-time Senators Mitch McConnell (R) from Kentucky and Chuck Schumer (D) from New York.
Who the F^^^K are they, in this matter ??
Actually who the F^^K are they, period ???

If anything it appears the military isn't taking orders from the DC politicians any longer and only from their Commander in Chief. That's a step in the right direction I would say.

Chuck Schumer is the most powerful person in the senate even though he is a minority leader. That is because republicans are afraid of NY Jews.

They are congress, but fair point

Trump is violating the war Powers Resolution.

Why is the president ordering the military to attack Yemen?

Several attacks on “al qaeda” and a few raids.

Also, the president is providing arms and assistance, such as mid air refueling to the Saudis who are conducting war Yemen.

Trump himself? Personally? Of course you can provide some verification that doesn't come from CNN, MSNBC, Fox....you know, the MSM?

Much better question, it's probably "too complicated" for us "commoners" to understand !!! What happened to the little sarc: thingy ???

Well, the military doesn’t take orders from Congress, we have established that, this is to be done on order of the president unless we have a coupe.

You can do your own research.

I'm not going to research your statements of assumption for accuracy. The military stated they will NO LONGER take orders from Congress. It says so right in your original post! What does that mean to you? Reading comprehension is fundamental!

Muja,

You and I both know that our nation is so far down the path of military fascism (or some other similar form of corrupted gov't) that the little details like this are either too complicated and obfuscated to figure out if they're relevant or are some form of distraction thrown out there to keep us guessing.

But you don't need to understand every detail provided by the gov't, the MSM and alternative medias to understand that the gov't is no longer "by, of, and for" the constituents.

As for Yemen, the Saudis want to control them and their oil. We in turn have sold out completely to two nations in the ME and one of them is SA. So of course our military is in this fight - on the wrong side as with so many other fights around the world, some we are told about (partially) and many others we aren't, and it is true we shouldn't be involved at all if the original beliefs of our Founders were to be followed

But we have become the world's policemen and a mercenary military for hire. After Trump's trip to NK, we may begin helping out other dictators in Asia soon as well.

Saudi Arabia would not be able to bomb the shit out of Yemen without American logistics.

Congress is not declared war on Yemen or approved the support of Saudi Arabia.

Our tax money is being spent here. We are involved in yet another middle eastern country.

The President does not have the right to do this.

...just like the president before him, and the president before him, and the president before him, etc.

CONgress lacks the authority to just sign over a blank check to the executive that says "bomb whomsoever you wish", but that's exactly what they've been doing for decades. They give these things cutsie names like "authorization of the use of force", but the Constitution says only CONgress has the authority to DECLARE WAR. The CONgress critters just stand by idly while each executive grabs up more and more power.

It was on Obama's watch that 3 American citizens were MURDERED in Yemen without any due process whatsoever. This Republic is completely broken.

It's beyond amusing that even here people think the president runs everything. You guys really think the owners of this country would leave such important matters in the hands of idiot voters?
