It is estimated that worldwide commercial "passenger" airline flights exceed 100,000 daily. This figure does not include daily cargo transports, private or military flights.

How much air & ground pollution do these aviation activities create on a daily, monthly & annual basis? Why do the climate change supporters fail to address such industries?

https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/by_the_numbers/

How many airplanes fly each day in the world?

According to this blog post which cites a third-party report, on average there are about 100,000 scheduled commercial airline flights per dayworldwide

That's different than the number of airplanes -- since the same plane can fly multiple times in one day -- so the actual number of planes is probably in the 50,000-80,000 range.

Yet your automobile & woodstove, etc. have been targetted as major contributors to climate change!

Because it's easier to charge you for the two extra molecules of pollution your car produces?

Also, if you think planes are bad, go check out the amount of pollution created by Ocean-going cargo vessels. The 15 largest ones produce as much pollution as all the Worlds cars do.
...and there are many thousands of them sailing World-wide every day.

Bad bollywood actors & algore fly around in private jets. Their private planes pollute more than a plane with many passengers. Serf's spend most of their lives tolling in the fields & factories.........

Thanls Joe....

How 16 ships create as much pollution as all the cars in the world

There are now an estimated 100,000 ships on the seas, and the fleet is growing fast as goods are ferried in vast quantities from Asian industrial powerhouses to consumers in Europe and North America.

One more great example of bureaucracy turning the screws on the economic slaves thru the make work projects of a centrally planned Marxist economy.... Where are the tree huggers??? Ah yes, the tree huggers are financed & supported by the polluters to divert & obfuscate the facts!!!

Not to mention the entourage that accompanies them.

Somehow a carbon tax will fix all our problems and reverse climate change
Not somehow, they know how. If they tax non-conforming energy sources, you'll use less of them thereby reducing your carbon footprint.
Ie: their answer is to give you less stuff for more of your money by artificially increasing the cost of conventional sources of energy. That money will then be used by gov to line the pockets of the favored ones.
....and that's how Global warming works.

No question, air travel is highly polluting. Deaths from asthma, heart disease, stroke are higher near airports.
And big carbon footprint.

But people like to fly, only die-hards will curtail travel, and there isn't an easy technological solution.

Ten years from now, there will be virtually no new internal combustion engines for personal autos.
Electric will simply win on a flat out economic argument, with environmental ethos taking second seat to market forces.
Tesla is claiming their new drive trains will last a million miles, and batteries keep growing in capacity and dropping in cost.

Probably the best technological hope of curbing emissions from air travel is hyperloop, which will get you city to city faster with very minimal energy. The other option would be airplanes operating on biofuels that are more-or-less carbon neutral.

"Hyperloop" is as big a scam as Anthropogenic warming.

The idea of electric cars seems like a good one and I'm sure there are suitable uses for them. However the one thing I never see addressed in this push for electric vehicles is, what will we do with all the gasoline currently being used by cars? We'll still need most/all of the other products derived from a barrel of oil and 47% of every barrel is gasoline. The World uses 93million barrels/day. That means the Worlds refineries produce 1.8 billion gallons of gasoline/day. If we don't burn it in cars as fuel, what can be done with it? Prior to it's use as auto fuel, it was considered a waste product. Ie: dumped or burned off.

Probably the best technological hope of curbing emissions from air travel is hyperloop,
Hyperloop sounds good on the surface, but in reality is one of the dumbest things that's ever come down the pike.

Y'all know I'm about as treehugger as they come, woodstove as a cause of atmospheric co2 increase is just dumb. Woodstove is by nature, carbon neutral. Inefficient wood stoves can certainly cause local pollution problems, but a proper wood stove that reburns the volatiles emits almost nothing but heat and water vapor and is about as ecological a heating method as you can come by.
